Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Inspector to join our team at Hartzell Engine Technologies. As a Quality Inspector, you will be responsible for performing routine checks, tests, and inspections of materials, goods in process, and finished goods.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform assigned routine tests on materials, goods in process, or finished goods, comparing results with company quality standards and reporting to the Director.
  • Inspect visually for obvious defects and perform detailed visual inspections when necessary to determine product quality.
  • Remove defectives and place acceptable product back in stock, notifying the supervisor when inspection data exceeds acceptable limits or when major incidents or poor quality are noted.
  • Record results on inspection forms or charts and report the number of defects found, posting and maintaining forms and charts of inspection data, quality levels, or special quality studies.
  • Make recommendations on the disposition of questionable product to the supervisor and operate a CMM as needed.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and one year of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals, and to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, including proper use and application of GD&T, and to use and properly read measurements from a variety of precision measurement devices.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with aviation-related products and the FAA regulatory system.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • A good understanding of mechanical structures and manufacturing processes.
Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals, and to write routine reports and correspondence.

Must perform acceptably on Quality Inspection test.

Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs. Occasional bending, pushing, squatting, and pulling.
