Job Summary and Qualifications

In this role, you will:
  • Oversee the coordination of direct admissions and hospital transfers to appropriate facilities within the HCA network.
  • Manage ambulance transfers and collaborate with post-acute care providers.
  • Utilize a customer-focused approach in a transfer and transport call center, leveraging an electronic database for service profiles and clinical protocols.
  • Effectively manage all hospital transfers while consulting with on-call physicians regarding patient care.
  • Work collaboratively with HCA facilities to coordinate patient movements and bed assignments.
  • Document and track all transfers and transports, ensuring compliance with EMTALA regulations.
  • Apply nursing expertise to gather clinical data for appropriate patient placement and transfer facilitation.
  • Maintain communication with all stakeholders, including physicians and referring facilities.
  • Utilize problem-solving skills to address patient and physician needs effectively.
  • Assist in data collection and analysis to improve transfer protocols and procedures.
  • Exhibit strong customer relationship skills through effective communication with various stakeholders.
Education and Requirements:
  • Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
  • Current nursing license in the state of Texas.
  • A minimum of 5 years of acute care RN experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • BSN or a Bachelor's degree in nursing.
  • 2 years of experience in Critical Care nursing, including ED, ICU, or as a House Supervisor.
