Key Responsibilities:

As the Application Security Operations Lead, you will serve as a vital resource across various business divisions, focusing on enhancing and maintaining the security of Seakeeper's software development processes. Your role is essential in achieving our objectives of continuous integration and continuous delivery while ensuring robust security measures are in place. You will be instrumental in elevating our application development team and fostering collaboration with our IT department. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Establishing a security-conscious culture by integrating security testing into the development lifecycle (shift left)
  • Conducting code reviews and assessing our security posture, facilitating cross-functional communication to assist teams in meeting deadlines while instilling security standards from the outset (shift left)
  • Recruiting, mentoring, and developing a team of DevOps specialists
  • Designing, communicating, and executing secure cloud-based continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines, along with defining compliance requirements and metrics (OWASP)
  • Engaging in all stages of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
  • Collaborating closely with the Embedded Software and Systems Development teams on critical DevOps projects related to application development
  • Overseeing code repository platforms and ensuring platform security
  • Implementing security technologies to identify, evaluate, and mitigate application and code vulnerabilities (SAST, SCA, IAST, DAST, etc.) and developing threat modeling metrics aligned with current IT Security frameworks
  • Establishing a service maturity model
  • Architecting and managing Container as a Service (CaaS) or Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) for code development and testing
  • Conducting thorough code reviews and analyses
    • Generating reports on code evaluations to ensure adherence to industry standards and secure coding best practices, providing insights to address any deficiencies
  • Creating efficiency toolkits to empower engineers to adopt technologies swiftly while ensuring security and minimizing deployment time
  • Translating business requirements into effective technological solutions
  • Utilizing Agile methodologies

Qualifications:

To thrive in this role, you should possess a positive mindset, a willingness to learn, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment. The following qualifications are essential:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Systems
  • 7+ years of experience in a DevSecOps capacity
  • Proven experience in leading a team of direct reports
  • Familiarity with a range of DevOps tools, expertise in DevOps automation, and strong Linux administration skills, along with knowledge of containerization and microservices architecture
  • Significant experience with build pipelines in embedded technology
  • Experience with Atlassian tools (BitBucket, Jira, Confluence)
  • Proficiency in Git
  • Experience in artifact management
  • Knowledge of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.)
  • Experience with automation tools (Jenkins, Terraform, Helm)

Preferred:

  • Familiarity with MATLAB
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as C, C#, C++, JavaScript, and Python

Additional Information:

  • This position requires onsite presence in the Ft. Myers, FL office three days a week.
  • You will report directly to the CFO.
  • Occasional travel to other Seakeeper locations may be required.
