The Stanford Prevention Research Center (SPRC) is a collaborative group of distinguished professionals recognized globally for their pioneering efforts in disease prevention and health promotion.

Their initiatives are dedicated to pinpointing the most effective, evidence-based strategies to tackle some of society's most widespread and preventable health challenges, including obesity, diabetes, hypertension, and various chronic illnesses, while elevating the standards of scientific research that is crucial for health.

SPRC researchers are engaged in multiple, long-term initiatives aimed at translating research findings into practical methods for enhancing well-being throughout all life stages.

Within the SPRC, the Hsing Lab concentrates on well-being, cancer prevention, and health research focused on Asian American populations. The Hsing Lab is in search of a proactive, organized, and collaborative Project Coordinator to join their team. Under the guidance of the Principal Investigator, Dr. Ann Hsing, this position will assist in the execution, coordination, and management of extensive population-based epidemiological studies. The ideal candidate will offer direction to a team comprising clinical coordinators, research assistants, and student interns.

Additionally, they will oversee the successful recruitment and retention of study participants, providing insights on enhancing study protocols to the Principal Investigator and other senior personnel.

The preferred applicant should demonstrate strong technical, analytical, organizational, and prioritization abilities. Previous experience in epidemiological field studies is advantageous.

Key Responsibilities:
Manage participant recruitment and study enrollment objectives. Identify effective strategies for promoting and retaining research participants in extended clinical trials. Supervise data management for research initiatives. Create and oversee systems for organizing, collecting, reporting, and monitoring data collection. Extract, analyze, and interpret data. Develop project timelines, objectives, metrics, and responsibilities as assigned. Facilitate team meetings and prepare/approve meeting minutes.

Formally supervise, train, and/or mentor new staff or students as assigned, which may include hiring, assisting with performance evaluations, and related duties, in addition to guidance on project tasks.

Conduct audits of operations, including laboratory processes, to ensure adherence to relevant regulations; lead efforts in identifying and implementing corrective actions/processes. Monitor Institutional Review Board submissions and address inquiries and requests. Provide leadership in assessing, recommending, and implementing enhancements to policies/processes; establish best practices.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience engaging with Asian American communities or international populations. Familiarity with epidemiological field investigations. Experience collaborating with clinical laboratories, including specimen collection, processing, and storage. Attention to detail. Strong organizational and prioritization skills. Proficient knowledge of basic statistics with robust quantitative abilities. Excellent writing and communication skills. Experience with online data collection platforms (Qualtrics, REDCap). Proficiency in data management software (ACCESS, REDCap). Familiarity with statistical programming languages (R, SAS, Stata). Language proficiency in Mandarin, Vietnamese, Tagalog, Korean, Japanese, Hindi, or Hebrew.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (REQUIRED):

A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and two years of experience in clinical research, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (REQUIRED): Strong interpersonal skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database applications.

Experience with research protocols and regulatory or governing bodies, including HIPAA and FDA regulations, Institutional Review Board requirements, and Good Clinical Practices.

Knowledge of medical terminology.

CERTIFICATIONS & LICENSES:
Certification from the Society of Clinical Research Associates or the Association of Clinical Research Professionals is preferred. A valid California Driver's License may be required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Frequent standing, walking, twisting, bending, stooping, squatting, and fine motor skills are necessary.

Occasional sitting, reaching above shoulders, performing desk-based computer tasks, using a telephone, and writing by hand, as well as lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling objects weighing up to 40 pounds.

Rarely kneeling, crawling, climbing ladders, grasping forcefully, sorting and filing paperwork or parts, and lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling objects weighing 40 pounds or more.

The anticipated salary range for this position is $69,100 to $92,000 annually.

Stanford University provides salary ranges that represent its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for a position.

The compensation offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location, and external market compensation for comparable roles.
