Position Overview:
PotomacWave Consulting is seeking a skilled Nuclear Policy Analyst to support a Federal client. The role is pivotal in generating and distributing comprehensive technical intelligence reports, delivering tailored briefings and evaluations to high-level policymakers, and collaborating with various members of the Intelligence Community and National Laboratories.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Conducting thorough all-source research and analysis to create finalized intelligence documents for senior officials, field specialists, and the US Intelligence Community (IC).
2. Engaging directly with senior leaders and technical specialists to develop bespoke intelligence products and presentations that leverage analytic expertise and in-depth knowledge of the global nuclear and radiological environment.
3. Coordinating with representatives from other agencies to clarify reporting and collaborate on interagency intelligence outputs.
4. Working closely with laboratory experts to formulate technically robust and analytically sound assessments that utilize the individual's knowledge and external intelligence data.
5. Monitoring intelligence and open-source information for relevance to ongoing missions, providing preliminary evaluations of reports concerning established or emerging threat streams.
6. Maintaining situational awareness of significant global and national developments, informing the Intelligence Community of pertinent issues or concerns.
7. Responding to inquiries from within the agency and the broader intelligence community regarding Intelligence Community equities.
8. Preparing materials to support briefings for senior personnel and policy customers within the US government and the Intelligence Community.
9. Completing both individual and collaborative tasks assigned by management in support of strategic objectives, resulting in both draft and finalized products.
10. Participating in interagency working group meetings focused on mission objectives.
Qualifications:
1. A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is required.
2. Proven experience in analyzing and evaluating technical and scientific data related to nuclear policy, security, or nonproliferation.
3. Strong analytical skills to internalize technical information, identify issues, process data, and develop well-reasoned arguments or conclusions, effectively presenting these both orally and in writing.
4. A solid understanding of international relations and global nuclear or radiological security challenges.
5. Exceptional oral and written communication abilities, with a track record of delivering high-quality work under tight deadlines.
6. Experience in writing, peer-reviewing, and presenting various reports, briefings, and information papers.
7. Familiarity with handling large volumes of information and a basic understanding of the scientific and engineering principles related to nuclear or radiological technologies.
8. Proficiency in automated data processing tools, including Microsoft Office applications.
9. A Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field such as nuclear engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, physics, international relations, or political science is essential. A Master's Degree is advantageous.
10. Candidates may be required to successfully complete a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination.
11. An active TS clearance is mandatory.
Salary Range:
$85,000 - $110,000
