Position Summary:

The primary responsibility of this role is to oversee distribution partnerships, enhance relationships, implement strategic initiatives, and drive process improvements. This includes a thorough understanding of purchasing dynamics within Compass Group and our members, developing and executing annual business strategies, and identifying opportunities for added value. This position may involve managing direct reports.

Key Responsibilities:
* Formulate category strategies and collaborative business plans.
* Develop sourcing strategies for distribution in alignment with key stakeholders.
* Collaborate with the Sourcing team to negotiate and finalize preferred distribution agreements.
* Monitor service level requirements and maintain distributor performance metrics.
* Serve as the primary contact for customer service level enhancements.
* Manage essential internal processes including budgeting, contract management, and pricing strategies.
* Conduct market analysis to inform a comprehensive three-year distribution strategy.
* Work with the Data Insights Team to create performance tracking tools.
* Provide ongoing analysis of business performance to identify opportunities for value creation.
* Prepare detailed strategy reports.
* Collaborate with internal departments to align goals and priorities.
* Oversee performance metrics for direct reports, ensuring development plans are in place.
* Partner with category peers to optimize product distribution strategies.
* Lead project initiatives related to accounts receivable and payable, coordinating with distributor operations.
* Create and present insights and recommendations based on market trends.
* Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives with assigned distributors.
* Analyze current and future market needs, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
* Act as a subject matter expert during transitions in non-food distribution, facilitating communication and process enhancements.

Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
* Minimum of 4 years in supply chain, distribution, or related fields.
* ISM Foodservice Certification is advantageous.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Experience in project management.
* Proficient analytical skills with large datasets.
* Proven negotiation skills.
* Expertise in developing strategic business plans and managing cross-functional projects.
* Financial acumen with forecasting capabilities.
* Excellent presentation skills.
* Ability to influence both direct and indirect teams.
* High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
* Willingness to travel up to 15% annually.
