Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Reporting Controls Audit Consultant to join our MassMutual Corporate Audit Team. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in supporting our financial controls reporting focused audit plan, partnering with peers and clients to drive positive change across the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct audits and advisory services in accordance with professional standards and department policies and procedures, demonstrating a strong understanding of risk concepts, including inherent and residual risks, and how to assess the design and effectiveness of internal controls, focusing on financial reporting controls.
  • Deliver medium-scale, more complex, risk-based, financial reporting controls audits, working with business management and other risk/control functions, to ensure that controls are effective in managing risks.
  • Monitor control deficiencies impacting the Company's financial statements, validating effective remediation plans and timely closure.
  • Demonstrate an intense can-do attitude and deliver results on cross-team efforts that increase Corporate Audits' value and effectiveness.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • ~4+ years of work experience, preferably within the financial services industry.
  • MBA, CIA, CFA, or other professional designation.
  • Experience using data analytics in audits.
  • Knowledge of US GAAP and statutory accounting/reporting.
  • Strong understanding of risk concepts, including inherent and residual risks, as well as how to assess the design and effectiveness of internal controls.
  • Works independently, enthusiastically engaging clients and peers to complete value-added assignments within the defined project scope and timelines.
