Civil Engineer Project Manager Job Description

Crafton Tull is seeking a highly skilled Civil Engineer Project Manager to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for planning, designing, and directing engineering projects such as streets, roads, residential and commercial developments, municipal projects, institutional facilities, industrial facilities, drainage projects, airports, and channels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to the Crafton Tull Project Management Plan and ensure all team members follow the plan.
  • Analyze reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, tests, and aerial photographs to plan and design projects.
  • Use computer-assisted engineering and design software to create engineering and design documents.
  • Calculate costs, determine feasibility, and prepare detailed cost estimates.
  • Prepare or direct the preparation of reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, environmental impact studies, and designs.
  • Meet with clients to coordinate changes, inform them of additional requirements, receive input, answer questions, and resolve issues.
  • Coordinate project activity with officials, support staff, subcontractors, utilities, and other entities.
  • Inspect construction sites to monitor progress and ensure conformance to engineering plans, specifications, and construction standards.
  • Manage project budgets to ensure projects stay on track and meet company goals and objectives.
  • Meet with the Chief Operating Officer or Chief Financial Officer to review project progress and budgets.
  • Attend meetings such as City Council meetings, Planning Commission meetings, and inspection meetings to provide and receive information on projects and local requirements.
  • Stay up-to-date with changing techniques, materials, codes, regulations, and software through attendance at seminars, briefings, and other forums and maintain professional certification.
  • Make marketing calls to existing and potential customers.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (BS) from an accredited four-year college or university.
  • Five to eight years of related experience/training.
  • Certified as a Professional Engineer (PE).
  • Licensed PE in Arkansas and able to obtain license in other states as needed.

Work Environment:

The work environment is usually moderate, with occasional travel required.
