Responsibilities

Open Sky Career Services operates a comprehensive service model that emphasizes collaboration, coordination, and communication with all partners serving individuals engaged in Competitive Integrated Employment Services.

Our mission is to assist job seekers in establishing employment objectives and supporting them in securing and maintaining meaningful, sustained employment.

Employment Advisors adhere to the principles and components of the Competitive Integrated Employment Services model to help individuals stabilize their employment and achieve successful outcomes.

They also facilitate access to integrated employment opportunities tailored to each individual's Career Plan, based on their interests, skills, abilities, and needs.


Key Responsibilities Include:
  • Collaborating with relevant agencies to assess individuals' employment and educational goals.
  • Evaluating individuals' vocational readiness by developing essential skills, including job application completion, resume writing, and interview preparation.
  • Representing Open Sky in meetings with funding organizations related to work responsibilities and support for individuals served.
  • Assisting individuals in navigating and understanding their benefits, such as SSI and SSDI, and how these may impact their employment.

Qualifications

High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent is required. A Bachelor's Degree in Human Services or a related field is highly preferred.

A valid Driver's License, acceptable driving record, and reliable transportation are required.

A minimum of two years of experience working with individuals with disabilities, including behavioral health challenges, is required.

Ability to work independently with proven time and task management skills is essential.

Comfortable using technology for documentation and organization.
