Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Production Supervisor to join our team at G.S. Precision. As a key member of our manufacturing department, you will be responsible for supervising production employees, planning and assigning work, and implementing company policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise production employees in a manufacturing environment
  • Plan and assign work, implement and enforce company policies and procedures
  • Recommend improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures, and working conditions
  • Manage the activities of the production floor, following established procedures and approved processes
  • Supervise all production operations, including machining, processing, and assembly
  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate departmental activities to fulfill sales orders, meet inventory requirements, and deliver manufactured products in a timely fashion
  • Balance quality, productivity, cost, safety, and morale to achieve positive results in all areas
  • Work to continuously improve in all areas
  • Ensure effective employee relations, provide employee coaching and development, motivate employees, and assist with problem-solving
  • Make employment decisions and resolve employee issues through problem resolution
  • Manage departmental performance measures, including visual controls, and provide regular progress reports to manager
  • Track employee performance, attendance, and timekeeping, conduct performance reviews, discipline, accident investigations, etc.
  • Use technical expertise to train employees and develop the most efficient methods of production
  • Responsible for staffing the department and planning workload
  • Work harmoniously with other departments and functional units in the coordination of work to drive productivity, providing a good example to employees
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or at least 5 years of manufacturing supervisory experience
  • Prior manufacturing experience
  • Knowledge of manufacturing methods, techniques, equipment, production scheduling, and operations
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and customer specifications
  • Strong interpersonal skills, communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Time management, multitasking
  • Problem-solving and analysis skills
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety requirements
  • Computer skills, MS Office, manufacturing software, etc.
