Patient Care Technician

We are seeking a skilled Patient Care Technician to join our team at Roper St. Francis Healthcare. As a Patient Care Technician, you will provide direct patient care under the guidance of a Registered Nurse or designated healthcare professional. Your primary responsibilities will include providing basic patient care, acting as a liaison between patients and nurses, and providing high-level customer service to all patients, families, visitors, and employees.
Key Responsibilities- Provide basic patient care, including vital sign measurement, personal care, and hygiene.
- Act as a liaison between patients and nurses to report changes and concerns.
- Provide high-level customer service to all patients, families, visitors, and employees.
- Document patient care accurately and precisely.
- Participate in hand-off/report of pertinent information regarding patient and departmental needs.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Current certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and provide excellent customer service.
- Knowledge of patient care tasks and techniques to provide nursing care.
- Ability to report changes in patient condition to the professional nurse.
As a Patient Care Technician, you will work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. You may be exposed to physical altercations and verbal abuse, and may be required to use physical restraints. You will also be exposed to high noise levels and bright lights.
Physical RequirementsYou will be required to lift and carry patients, push and pull equipment, and stand for long periods of time. You will also be required to bend, stoop, and climb stairs.
