The Geotechnical Project Engineer I will play a crucial role in the preparation of geotechnical documentation, which includes thorough analysis and well-founded recommendations while ensuring adherence to project timelines.
This role encompasses the management of construction materials testing (CMT) initiatives, including daily report evaluations, troubleshooting project-related challenges, and providing training to field personnel involved in your assignments.
Key Responsibilities- Develop both geotechnical and CMT proposals, oversee project financials, and manage change orders and billing processes.
- Conduct or participate in project discussions with clients to review submitted reports and offer technical insights as needed.
- Additional responsibilities may involve assisting with or executing the following under supervision:
- Create drilling packages and secure utility clearances.
- Investigate local geological history.
- Supervise field operations carried out by drilling and test pit teams and aid in rig access challenges.
- Classify soil samples and determine laboratory testing requirements.
- Mentor and guide Staff Project Managers, Assistant Staff Project Managers, and technicians in their professional growth.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Geological Engineering, Geology, or a related field is essential.
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience is required.
- Possession of a Professional Engineer (P.E.) or Professional Geologist (P.G.) license is preferred.
It is mandatory to hold a professional license in each state where you intend to practice using the title. If a professional license has not yet been acquired, the title will reflect 'Manager'.
Additional Requirements
- A valid driver's license is necessary if driving for or on behalf of any ECS subsidiary.
