Job Summary

Join our team as a Patient Care Tech in the Medical Surgical Tele/Neuro/Spine Unit at Texas Health Plano. As a Patient Care Tech, you will provide excellent patient healthcare experience and provide basic patient care under the direction of nursing staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide assistance to patients according to the plan of care
  • Collect patient data, identify and report significant findings to the nurse
  • Assist in admission/transfer/discharge
  • Provide and revise patient activities of daily living based on patient/family preferences
  • Perform technical procedures safely and proficiently
  • Take action to reduce or eliminate patient risk
  • Enter orders into the computer or manual system if applicable
  • Document accurately and appropriately
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • One year experience highly preferred
  • CLIAFE - Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency required
  • TX CNA or PCT Training Program through NHA, NAHP and NCCT, accredited community college program or a THR approved program required upon hire
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required prior to providing independent patient care and must be maintained quarterly
