Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Tax Analyst to join our team at Texas Instruments. As a Tax Analyst, you will be responsible for preparing complex federal and state income tax returns, participating in various aspects of domestic income tax compliance, and assisting with the federal and state quarterly estimated payment, extension, and provision processes.

You will also be responsible for researching tax technical issues and communicating the federal and/or state implications for TI tax compliance in a clear and concise manner. Additionally, you will participate in various tax planning activities and assist with special projects, identify and lead process improvement initiatives that streamline and influence TI-level processes within the tax function, and support efforts to defend US tax filings upon audit by the IRS.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare complex federal and state income tax returns
  • Participate in various aspects of domestic income tax compliance
  • Assist with the federal and state quarterly estimated payment, extension, and provision processes
  • Research tax technical issues and communicate the federal and/or state implications for TI tax compliance
  • Participate in various tax planning activities and assist with special projects
  • Identify and lead process improvement initiatives that streamline and influence TI-level processes within the tax function
  • Support efforts to defend US tax filings upon audit by the IRS
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • 3 years of related work experience at a large corporation with multistate presence
  • CPA and/or Master's degree in Taxation or Accounting a plus
  • Working knowledge of federal and state tax laws, regulations, and reporting requirements
  • Working knowledge of corporate income tax software solutions
  • Experience with OneSource Income Tax and related suite of products strongly preferred
  • Experience with preparation and e-filing of complex consolidated federal income tax returns
  • Experience with preparation and e-filing of state corporate tax returns in both separate and combined reporting jurisdictions
  • Excellent research skills and working knowledge of tax research tools such as RIA Checkpoint or BNA/Bloomberg
  • Experience with SAP, BPC, Business Objects, Alteryx, and other reporting/data wrangling tools
  • Aptitude for technology, proven experience with process improvements
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently and effectively under pressure and manage deadlines
  • Strong analytical skills, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task in a dual-reporting role
