Job Summary

We are seeking an Industrial Engineer Intern to join our team at Steffes. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in process improvement and contribute to the company's success.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Process Analysis: Work closely with the site Continuous Improvement (CI) Team to analyze and evaluate current state work methods, procedures, controls, and documentation systems within manufacturing and business processes.
  2. Continuous Improvement: Participate in continuous improvement/lean activities such as 5S, A3 problem solving, value stream mapping, hoshin planning, and kaizen events.
  3. Training and Coaching: Support the CI team in developing, planning, and delivering training and coaching of CI principles, concepts, behaviors, and tools.
  4. Data Analysis: Collect, organize, and analyze data related to business processes and procedures to evaluate current state.
  5. Process Improvement: Review and implement process improvement initiatives.
  6. Documentation: Document, create, evaluate, and maintain procedures and standard work instructions.

  • Environmental, Health, Safety (EHS): Perform work in compliance with EHS training and identified procedures/standard work. Report any EHS incident or concern to your supervisor immediately. Cooperate and contribute to the overall success of the EHS program.
  • Quality: Participate in job-specific training. Complete work as indicated by standard work, processes, and/or procedures. If your work can't be completed as required, notify your supervisor immediately for guidance.
  • Conduct: Demonstrate and support the Steffes Code of Conduct.
  • Policies and Procedures: Demonstrate and support Steffes Policies and Procedures by: using tact, sound judgement, and maintaining a professional attitude in communication and relationships with others; striving to deliver the best quality in daily work; promoting a positive image of Steffes and its products; and being timely and punctual in attendance and following all policies and procedures.
Job Requirements/Qualifications
  • Education: Actively pursuing a degree in Industrial Engineering or related engineering field.
  • Skills: Proficient skills in MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS PowerPoint; basic time management skills; effective verbal and written communication, including interpersonal skills; self-motivated with good organization and planning skills.
  • Experience: Experience with problem solving and lean methodology are a plus.
