LVNLPN Long Term Care Night Shift Nurse

Job Description:
Job Summary:We are seeking a skilled LVNLPN Long Term Care Night Shift Nurse to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in long-term care and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:- Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques and facility policies and procedures.
- Prepare equipment and aid physicians during treatments and examinations of residents.
- Observe residents, record significant conditions and reactions, and notify supervisors, physicians, and family members of resident conditions and reactions to drugs, treatments, and significant incidents.
- Take temperatures, pulses, blood pressures, and other vital signs to detect deviations from normal and assess resident conditions.
- Assign duties and coordinate nursing services on the resident unit to ensure resident needs are met in accordance with physician instructions, federal and state regulations, and facility procedures.
- Consult with shift supervisors on nursing problems and interpretation of facility policies to ensure resident needs are met.
- Report all complaints or unusual problems to supervisors. Assist with completion of facility complaint reports.
- Participate in orientation and training and evaluation of nursing personnel.
- Evaluate nursing activities to ensure resident care, staff relations, and efficiency of service.
- Assign duties and coordinate nursing services on the resident unit.
- Observe nursing care and visit residents to ensure that nursing care is carried out as directed and treatment is administered in accordance with physician instructions.
- Assume responsibility and maintain records for unit narcotics.
- Inspect resident rooms and the unit for cleanliness and comfort.
- Responsible to document admissions, discharges, transfers, and incident reports per facility policies and procedures.
- Participate in the care plan process, complete nursing assessments, and resident care plans accurately and timely on assigned residents.
- Complete special projects and audits at the direction of supervisors, CCCs, or directors of nursing.
- Maintain all educational requirements for the State of Michigan to keep licenses current. Attend facility in-services and ward conferences as assigned.
- Maintain resident confidentiality; treat residents with kindness, dignity, and respect; know and comply with all resident rights rules; and promptly report all resident accidents and injuries to charge nurses.
- Must have regular and attendance.
- All other duties as assigned.
- 2+ years of experience in long-term care.
- Travel experience required.
- BLS (AHA or ARC) certification required.
- Covid vaccine strongly encouraged (if declining, mandated to wear a mask).
- Clinician must be able and willing to work the set schedule created by the facility.
- Block scheduling cannot be accommodated at this time.
- MUST have completed at least '1' successful assignment with submitting agency (note on work history).
- Work history.
- Skills checklist for pertinent specialty.
- At least 1 supervisor reference from within the previous two years.
- MI LPN license and applicable certifications (if required per submittal/certification requirements).
- COVID vaccination card (if applicable).
- BLS (AHA).
- Michigan.
- Must be in hand upon submission.
- Every other weekend/holiday rotation.
- None.
