Job Title: Civil Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Civil Engineer to join our team at the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. As a key member of our transportation department, you will play a crucial role in designing and reviewing technical designs for various highway projects.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and reviewing technical designs for a wide range of highway projects, including limited access multi-lane highways, two-lane highways, highway reconstructions, and bridge improvement projects. This will involve working closely with internal units and external consultants to ensure that designs meet project requirements and standards.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and review technical designs for highway projects
  • Collaborate with internal units and external consultants to ensure design quality and project compliance
  • Provide technical support during the construction phase
  • Act as a liaison between the department and engineering consultants
Requirements:
  • Successful completion of the Civil Engineer Trainee training program or equivalent experience
  • Five years of civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty, with an Engineer-in-Training certificate
  • Four years of civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty, with an Engineer-in-Training certificate and an associate's degree in civil engineering technology or a closely related engineering discipline
  • One year of civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty, with a bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a closely related engineering discipline
