Job Summary:

As an Environmental Services Technician at CARTI, you will play a vital role in maintaining a clean and safe environment for our patients and staff. Your primary responsibility will be to provide exceptional customer service while performing a variety of duties related to cleaning and maintenance of the clinic.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Provide quality customer service to patients and staff by providing one-on-one attention to detail.
  2. Respond to calls for housekeeping issues in a timely and professional manner.
  3. Contribute to team efforts by exhibiting professionalism with patients, staff, and other team members.
  4. Clean and maintain light fixtures, ceiling and vents, walls, furniture, windows and window coverings, floors and carpets, restroom fixtures, nurses stations, patient service areas, business offices, front lobby areas, and waiting room areas.
  5. Dispose of trash according to prescribed guidelines.
  6. Replenish paper and plastic products as needed.
  7. Move furniture, supplies, and equipment as required.
  8. Realign furniture and amenities according to prescribed layout.
  9. Push/pull cleaning cart or flatbed and carry buckets.
  10. Operate equipment such as vacuum cleaner.
  11. Maintain equipment and wear protective clothing as required by the work environment or safety regulations.
  12. May train workers engaged in cleaning and maintaining the premises.
  13. Communicate daily with applicable CARTI staff on cleaning and scheduling.
  14. Complete Daily Task Sheet.
  15. Respond to guest queries and requests.
  16. Some travel to clinics for general cleaning as requested by management.
  17. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
  1. High school diploma or G.E.D. (preferred).

Preferred Qualifications:
  1. Minimum of one year housekeeping experience preferred; preferably in a hospital or healthcare setting.

Reasoning Ability:
  1. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  2. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form.

Interpersonal Skills:
  1. Must interact and communicate both verbally and in written form.
  2. Must interact and exchange information regarding patients with physicians and other departmental personnel, and outside agencies on a frequent basis while respecting the confidentiality of patient information.

Physical Demands:

  2. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
  3. The employee regularly is required to stand, walk, sit, use hand to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms.
  4. This position also may require frequent pushing and pulling of heavy objects and the ability to lift, carry, and move up to 50 pounds.
  5. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
