Position Title: Procurement Specialist I

Agency: My Florida Corp Defunct

Job Overview: This role is integral to the Commodities and Contractual Services Unit, focusing on the acquisition of services and goods within established financial thresholds. The selected candidate will oversee the procurement process to ensure the delivery of quality products and services at competitive prices, while promoting fair competition and the inclusion of Minority and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises in compliance with relevant regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the procurement process for services and commodities through various methods including informal quotes, proposals, and invitations to bid.
  • Analyze procurement requests and specifications, providing guidance to project managers and ensuring adherence to departmental policies.
  • Conduct training sessions for project managers and vendors to enhance understanding of procurement procedures.
  • Maintain and manage contracts, including amendments and renewals, ensuring timely execution and compliance.
  • Provide administrative support, including the review and approval of purchase requisitions and maintenance of procurement files.
  • Assist in quality assurance reviews for procurement cards, ensuring compliance with established procedures.

Qualifications:

A minimum of an associate's degree from an accredited institution is required. Relevant experience may substitute for educational requirements on a year-for-year basis.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of procurement laws and practices.
  • Experience with various procurement methods including ITBs and RFPs.
  • Proficiency in eProcurement systems and ability to create requisitions and contracts.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently while fostering effective relationships with stakeholders.
  • Proficient in using spreadsheets, databases, and word processing software.
