Ophthalmic Technology Lead

The Lead Ophthalmic Tech Specialist provides direction and education to staff at assigned locations, serving as a role model and subject matter expert for all technical questions regarding ophthalmic procedures and techniques.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with the Chief Ophthalmic Tech Specialist to provide direction and education to staff
- Provide technical guidance and support to staff on ophthalmic procedures and techniques
- Perform regulatory activities at assigned locations, including maintaining compliance with relevant laws and regulations
- Supervise and delegate work to clinical staff, ensuring smooth and consistent clinic flow
- Provide input in the performance management process
- Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology (JCAHPO) certification at least at the Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) level
- Must obtain Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) or Certified Ophthalmic Technologist (COMT) within 18 months of hire
- 5 years of experience in ophthalmic technology
- Preferred: 10 years' experience and experience in academic medical environment
This position is located in an academic outpatient clinic environment, with occasional overtime. The ideal candidate will be able to work in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple priorities, and interact with patients and staff in a professional manner.
