Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Planning: Collaborate with our project managers to develop detailed, cost-effective budgets for our construction projects.
  • Accounting and Financial Analysis: Perform accounting duties throughout the project, including preparing invoices, estimating cash flow, and signing off on purchase orders.
  • Financial Reporting: Analyze all transactions and work unforeseen costs into the budget, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Financial Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate records of all project finances for internal and external auditing and tax purposes.
  • Financial Risk Management: Identify and report any financial risks and budgetary discrepancies to management for review and mitigation.
  • Vendor Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of goods and services.
  • Financial Operations: Perform monthly bank reconciliation, journal entries, invoicing accounts payable and accounts receivable as needed, AIA billing, payroll, and workers' comp reporting.
Requirements:
  • A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in construction accounting and AIA billing.
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in private or public accounting.
  • Excellent knowledge of construction cost accounting and related financial procedures.
  • Familiarity with accounting software, such as QuickBooks.
  • Working knowledge of the construction industry.
  • Solid analytical and mathematical skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Comfortable working in a small family office environment.
Working Conditions:
  • This role is an on-site position, expected to be in the office 4x or 5x a week. There is flexibility around 1x a week work from home but will take place primarily on-site.
  • This role is full-time and compensation range is based on years of experience.
