BAGGAGE HANDLING SYSTEMS
POSITION SUMMARY:
- With minimal supervision, responsible for assisting technical personnel and executing administrative tasks as directed by the client and Site Manager.
- Compensation: $17.17
- Coordinates personnel or technicians to address issues on the conveyor system and generates work orders for necessary repairs.
- Adheres to company policies and procedures, following management directives.
- May handle telephone communications for the maintenance facility.
- Utilizes initiative and judgment to ensure that issues needing attention are escalated appropriately or managed to reduce impact on conveyor line operations.
- Creates, modifies, and maintains databases/spreadsheets related to the administration of the maintenance site, ensuring accurate filing and reporting of conveyor line activities.
- Generates reports for the client upon request or as scheduled.
- Maintains effective communication with the client as required.
- Records daily operations, outages, and statistics of the conveyor system.
- Ensures accurate flight information in collaboration with the client, making necessary corrections as needed.
- Assists in resolving jams within the baggage handling system.
- Establishes and nurtures positive working relationships with colleagues, supervisors, and clients.
- May oversee parts inventory and perform data entry in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Completes all required safety training as mandated by the company.
- Complies with all safety programs, policies, and procedures.
- Performs additional tasks as assigned by management when necessary.
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
- Prior experience in an airport setting.
- Effective communication skills with clients, TSA, and airline representatives.
- Strong understanding of industrial safety protocols.
- Typing proficiency of at least 30 words per minute.
- Ability to communicate clearly over a two-way radio system.
- Exceptional customer service, interpersonal, and organizational abilities.
- Proficient in computer applications (CMMS, MS Office, Baggage System User Interface).
- Experience in warehousing and inventory management.
- Familiarity with baggage handling systems.
- Capability to pass a basic mechanical/electrical aptitude assessment.
- Prior experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
- Basic financial and budgeting knowledge.
- Accountability for actions and responsibilities.
- Ability to utilize reasoning to address problems.
- Focus on customer needs while adhering to company policies.

- Must comply with the company's Drug and Alcohol policy.
The physical requirements of this role vary daily and are not limited to a single workday.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Operates within the airport terminal, in conditions that may involve dust, dirt, and continuous noise within OSHA's acceptable levels.
