Job Summary

The Program Aide will provide support to teaching staff in creating a safe, clean, and healthy environment for children in the classroom. This role involves assisting with daily class duties, bus monitoring, and maintaining a positive and respectful atmosphere.

Responsibilities
  • Assist teaching staff with daily class duties, including cleaning, preparing materials, and supervising children.
  • Monitor the bus and ensure the safe transportation of children.
  • Develop and maintain good communication with parents, staff, and visitors while respecting confidentiality.
  • Perform routine cleaning tasks, including mopping floors, emptying trash, and sanitizing bathrooms.
  • Collaborate with the bus driver to ensure the safe delivery and pickup of children.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • One year of experience working with preschool children, preferably in a Head Start setting.
  • Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic.
  • Computer experience preferred.
Working Conditions

This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, maintain confidentiality, and adapt to changing circumstances. The Program Aide will be required to stand, walk, and move frequently, and may be required to lift and carry objects up to 25 pounds.
