We are seeking a dedicated Finishing Operator to join our team. The Finishing Operator plays a crucial role in the setup and operation of inspection and slitting machinery, which includes the use of advanced computerized camera systems and both manual and automated slitting equipment, as well as Ink Jet Equipment for numbering.
Key Responsibilities:
- Complete all necessary documentation and inspect orders in compliance with Quality Assurance standards.
- Utilize a computerized vision system to verify the accuracy of label orders.
- Set up finishing machinery, ensuring proper web tensions, ink jet system configurations, and knife positions (manual or automatic).
- Remove any substandard printed materials from the production line.
- Ensure adherence to all customer specifications during the finishing process.
- Pack finished reels onto carts and label them appropriately.
- Communicate quality concerns with the supervisor.
- Maintain a daily log of all inspected orders.
Qualifications:
- Ability to read and understand instructions, brief correspondence, and memos.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines while adhering to strict customer requirements.
- Basic proficiency in mathematics, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Critical thinking skills, including problem-solving, observation, and analysis.
- Ability to interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and maintenance manuals.
- Basic technical knowledge and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience in the pharmaceutical or automotive supply chain is advantageous.
Our facility operates on a two-shift, ten-hour daily schedule, with opportunities for overtime on Fridays. The role requires the ability to stand, reach, kneel, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
Applicants should possess a high school diploma (or equivalent) and have at least one year of experience in operating manufacturing equipment.
Vision capabilities must include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
