POSITION MISSION

Cercano Management is in search of a skilled Portfolio Manager/Analyst to join its Investment Management team, focusing primarily on public equity investments within the Technology sector, particularly in the Software industry. This role is pivotal, as the Portfolio Manager will collaborate closely with the lead Technology Portfolio Manager to generate, assess, and propose investment opportunities within the Technology landscape. The team is dedicated to achieving superior long-term investment outcomes through exceptional research and meticulous security selection.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive financial models and perform in-depth valuation analyses.
  • Engage regularly with management teams and industry experts to gather insights.
  • Create detailed investment reports that articulate findings and recommendations.
  • Identify trends and shifts within covered companies and sectors, providing informed perspectives.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning and a deep understanding of financial markets.
  • Balance proactive decision-making with a stable approach, advocating for well-researched paths forward.
  • Foster a collaborative and accessible team environment.

QUALIFICATIONS

To excel in this role, candidates should possess a blend of educational and professional experience in buy-side or sell-side research, as well as investment banking within the Technology sector. Essential qualifications include:
  • Proficient analytical skills, particularly in financial modeling and independent research.
  • Understanding of investment valuation techniques and due diligence processes.
  • Strong communication abilities, both written and verbal.
  • A self-sufficient yet team-oriented mindset.

Computer Skills:
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Familiarity with Bloomberg.

Education and Experience:
  • A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Finance, or a related field is required.
  • Advanced degrees or CFA designations are advantageous.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in the industry or investment sector.
