Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Mechanical Engineer to lead the development of new mechanical products and services. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and formulating new product development proposals, reviewing and analyzing sales proposals, and approving and submitting proposals to management for consideration.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Product Development: Plan and formulate aspects of new product development proposals, including applications for new or modified presses, cost of projects, and equipment and human resource requirements.
  2. Sales Proposal Review: Review and analyze sales proposals to determine if the product can be manufactured as specified.
  3. Proposal Submission: Approve and submit proposals considered feasible to management for consideration and allocation of funds for the construction of new or modified products.
  4. Shop Floor Support: Assist shop floor or new product start-ups by coordinating first run production activities.
  5. Bills of Materials: Generate appropriate bills of materials from prints/drawings to allow for the production of presses or products.
  6. CAD Design: Utilize CAD and/or related drawing/detailing apparatus to generate a finished print for sales and manufacturing use.
  7. Standard Operating Procedures: Generate and/or assist in the generation of standard operating procedures to be used by manufacturing when producing a salable product.
  8. Troubleshooting: Assist in troubleshooting with machine breakdowns by helping find the right path for solving the problem, getting the parts fixed and put the machine back to work.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent
  • A minimum of five years experience in a manufacturing environment, experience with presses preferred
  • A minimum of three years of hands-on experience with CAD software
  • The ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office
