Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish a robust pipeline for major gift solicitations, aiming to secure at least one million dollars annually for the institution through the identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of major gift donors.
  • Conduct face-to-face meetings to assess donor capacity, inclination, and areas of interest for support.
  • Organize and facilitate campus visits, tours, and cultivation events for designated prospects.
  • Prepare strategic briefing materials in accordance with established protocols.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership, faculty, and staff to engage effectively with prospective donors.
  • Draft both customized and standard proposals, correspondence, and reports that are accurate and compelling.
  • Monitor fundraising progress and manage donor activity within your portfolio.
  • Become well-versed in institutional fundraising priorities and the case for support for each initiative.
  • Develop tailored strategies for each major gift donor in your portfolio to guide engagement and outreach efforts.
  • Utilize alumni relations events to enhance philanthropic strategies for major gift donors.
  • Build a network within assigned regions to foster engagement and facilitate donor cultivation.
  • Coordinate stewardship activities for assigned prospects.
  • Work collaboratively with the broader Advancement team and across departments.
  • Document donor visits promptly in the designated database.
  • Perform additional development-related tasks as needed.

Additional Requirements:

Knowledge:

  • Comprehensive understanding of fundraising and administration within higher education and non-profit sectors.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Teams, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Strong familiarity with CRM systems; experience with Raiser's Edge is preferred.
  • Knowledge of planned giving is advantageous.

Education and Experience:
