The Department of Medicine, Cardiology at the University of Miami Health System is seeking a highly qualified Clinical Faculty, Open Rank to join our team. As a key member of our faculty, you will play a vital role in the development and growth of our Adult Medical Director of Clinical Advanced Heart Failure/MCS/Transplant Program.
Key Responsibilities- Leadership and Administration: Participate in the research, development, and implementation of transplant policies, protocols, and practice guidelines for the program.
- Program Development: Collaborate with the Surgical Director to establish transplant program goals and objectives consistent with those of the hospital and the MTI.
- Clinical Care: Provide direct involvement in the care of patients, including evaluation of pre-transplant candidates, donor selection, and long-term post-transplant care for heart transplant and LVAD patients.
- Education and Research: Promote research activity within the specialty and participate in site review by regulatory agencies and insurance companies.
- Quality Improvement: Provide physician leadership to the Transplant programs Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement Committee and participate in monthly program-specific QAPI committee meetings.
- Board certified in Medicine with a completed fellowship in Cardiology and underwent Transplant Fellowship or has held more than 5 years of transplant experience.
- Member in good standing of the hospital staff.
- Currently licensed to practice in Florida.
- Minimum of five years clinical experience in Transplantation.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective interpersonal relationships.
- Ability to accept and implement change.
- Ability to problem solve to make effective decisions.
