Job Summary

Haywood Regional Medical Center seeks a highly skilled Quality Improvement Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the development of departmental goals, standards, and objectives that align with the organization's strategic plan and vision.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Director in managing staff relations, including performance management, staff satisfaction, and conflict resolution.
  • Oversee scheduling, staff development, recruitment, payroll, and student engagement.
  • Make presentations at various meetings, including the Quality and Safety Committee and New Employee Orientation.
  • Monitor departmental budgets, regulatory compliance, departmental contracts, and vendor relations.
  • Determine and justify needs for systems/equipment/supplies purchases, monitor usage, and ensure proper working order and/or stock supplies.
  • Assess the quality of patient care delivered and coordinate patient care services with patients, staff, physicians, and other departments.
  • Provide patient care when necessary.
  • Create and foster an environment that encourages professional growth.
  • Integrate evidence-based practices into operations and clinical protocols.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) required.
  • Master's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Management, or Quality preferred.
  • Three (3) to five (5) years diverse clinical practice in an acute care environment required.
  • Previous performance improvement and/or large-scale project management experience required.
  • Demonstrated progressive leadership skills required.
  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of North Carolina or a Compact State.
