Job Summary

The Treatment Nurse LVN provides primary skincare to residents under the medical direction and supervision of attending physicians, Director of Nursing, or Medical Director. This role requires a skilled and compassionate individual who can provide high-quality care and support to our residents.

Key Responsibilities

  • Skincare Management: Identify, manage, and treat specific skin disorders and primary and secondary lesions.
  • Assessment and Diagnostic Services: Provide input on assessment and diagnostic services to residents using techniques including observation, inspection, and palpation.
  • Weekly Skin Assessment: Complete weekly skin assessment of residents and record results with assessment.
  • Treatment and Therapy: Provide treatment and therapeutic services per physician orders, ensuring residents with decubitus ulcers receive appropriate prophylaxis and treatment.
  • Education and Support: Provide information to residents and family members on prevention techniques and other ways to maintain or improve general health and psychosocial status of residents.
  • Reporting and Communication: Provide written and/or oral reports and recommendations to attending physicians and complete weekly skin reports for the Director of Nursing.

Requirements

  • Previous nursing or healthcare experience preferred
  • 1 year experience as a Treatment Nurse in skilled nursing
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Must have an active license in vocational nursing
