About the Role:

As a Respiratory Therapist at Corona Post Acute, you will play a vital role in the evaluation, treatment, and care of residents with breathing disorders. You will work under the direction of the Unit Manager, Director of Nursing, and/or Administrator to provide high-quality care and support to our residents.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate and treat residents with breathing disorders, including setting up and operating various types of respiratory care equipment.
  • Read prescriptions, measure arterial blood gases, and review resident information to evaluate resident condition.
  • Conduct physician-prescribed treatments, including operating mechanical ventilators, therapeutic gas administration apparatus, and aerosol generators.
  • Monitor resident physiological responses to therapy and consult with physicians if adverse reactions occur.
  • Perform chest physical therapy treatments, including percussion, postural drainage, and suctioning, to mobilize secretions and mucus in the lungs.
Requirements:
  • 2-4 years' experience providing direct Respiratory Therapy care to multiple patients/residents, preferably in an acute care respiratory unit or Skilled Nursing environment.
  • Current, unencumbered California Respiratory License credentialed by the NBRC.
  • Graduation from an approved Respiratory Therapy program.
  • Current Basic Life Support certification.
