  • Compensation - We advocate for transparency, equity, and fairness in our compensation structure. We offer a competitive hourly wage based on educational attainment and qualifications, including:
    • Undergraduate students: $25.00/hour
    • Graduate students: $29.00/hour

Role Overview

The PCAOB is in search of a Funding Operations intern for the upcoming cohort. As a member of the Funding Operations team, you will collaborate with various departments within the PCAOB on diverse research topics, gain in-depth knowledge of the PCAOB's funding sources, and learn about the different functions of the Finance department. You will serve as a vital contact point for the PCAOB in interactions with external entities. Our internship program offers practical work experience, enabling you to deepen your understanding of SEC EDGAR filings, data providers, and financial markets while honing your analytical and problem-solving skills. You will also have the chance to apply and enhance your financial accounting and SOX knowledge. The intern will engage with the COSO framework and participate in essential team activities, which may include process walkthroughs, risk assessment, controls design, and process flow mapping.

Key Responsibilities
  • Gather and organize information to support the PCAOB's issuer ASF invoicing process.
  • Understand and apply business rules for the assessment and collection of fees.
  • Analyze company data using internal and publicly available resources, documenting research outcomes.
  • Respond to daily inquiries from entities, ensuring timely and accurate communication.
  • Assist in organizing ICFR documentation within designated platforms and prepare for testing processes.
  • Communicate with invoiced entities regarding billing or payment concerns.
  • Manage inquiries from various levels of stakeholders.
  • Document all relevant information regarding external parties in the funding correspondence database.
  • Update and maintain necessary funding documentation.
  • Support additional projects as required.
Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate (junior or above) or graduate program, pursuing a degree in accounting, finance, or business.
  • Previous exposure to analytics software (e.g., SAS, Tableau, Power BI, etc.).
  • Basic understanding of internal controls and SOX, as well as audit techniques and documentation.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Visio, or similar applications.
  • Strong analytical skills and a quick learning ability.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in all tasks.
  • Organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines and prioritize effectively.
  • Clear and concise communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and demonstrate self-motivation.
