Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Advanced Emergency Medical Technician to join our team at Penn State Health - Life Lion. As a critical member of our emergency medical services team, you will be responsible for responding to emergencies, assessing patients, and providing treatment in accordance with PA DOH Basic & Advanced EMT standard curriculum.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to emergencies and assess patients to determine the level of care required
  • Provide treatment in accordance with PA DOH Basic & Advanced EMT standard curriculum
  • Transport patients according to established protocols
  • Assist Advanced Life Support (Paramedic) providers with patient care management
  • Perform non-emergency routine medical transports utilizing ambulances and wheelchairs
  • Document patient care and treatment in accordance with established protocols
Requirements
  • Basic life support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers Program CPR/AED certified
  • Current certification as an Advanced EMT in the Commonwealth of PA or eligible for and completion of reciprocity if certified in another state
  • Valid Driver's license required or eligible for a Commonwealth of PA driver's license if out of state
  • PA DOH EMSVO certification within 30 days of start date
  • HazMat Awareness Training and NIMS (100, 200, 700, 800) required within 30 days of start date
  • Must obtain Medical Command within 90 days of start date
Preferred Qualifications
  • Six (6) months of Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) experience preferred
