Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Medical Laboratory Assistant to join our team at Versiti, Inc. as a Client Services Representative - Laboratory Operations. In this role, you will provide administrative and customer support duties related to Donor Testing Laboratory operations, ensuring timely and accurate completion of tasks while exceeding customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Understand and perform to all applicable regulatory and compliance requirements.
  • Maintain donor privacy and adherence to HIPAA regulations.
  • Use appropriate systems to accurately perform data entry functions.
  • Review preparation of all supplemental and 3'rd party laboratory testing.
  • Proof read own work for content, spelling, accuracy, and document format.
  • Handle reporting of all supplemental and 3'rd party laboratory testing.
  • Maintain, organize, and archive laboratory records for long term storage.
  • Manage customer requests and resolve sample problems in a prompt and courteous manner.
  • Use written and verbal communication skills to provide exemplary customer service to internal and external customers, and appropriately document interactions.
  • Support the maintenance of general supply inventory, as needed.
  • May train others on job tasks, as assigned.
  • Provide support to client services specialist and other administrative personnel as needed.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Two years attendance at an accredited college, university or technical college with emphasis in a science/medical related field preferred.
  • 1-3 years of medical related experience or training preferred.
  • Data Entry, customer service and LIS (Laboratory Information System) experience preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as Standard Operating Procedures, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and other department manuals.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Aptitude for computers and strong data entry skills.
  • Ability to manage frequent interruptions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good customer service and communication skills.
  • Flexibility to work independently and with a team.
  • Ability to adapt to change and understand the impact on laboratory operations.
  • Organized and able to efficiently prioritize and handle multiple tasks at one time to provide a productive workflow.
  • Ability to work independently with structured written or oral instructions.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
  • Understands time zones and military time.
