Investigative Auditor

The New York City Department of Investigation (DOI) is seeking a highly skilled Investigative Auditor to join their team. As an Investigative Auditor, you will participate in and conduct confidential and sensitive financial investigations regarding allegations of fraud or other corrupt activities that may involve New York City officials, employees, and persons or entities doing business with the City.
Responsibilities:
- Examine and analyze financial records and documents
- Participate in and conduct interviews
- Prepare reports
- Work with prosecutorial agencies
- Testify at hearings and court proceedings (if necessary)
Requirements:
- A four-year high school diploma or its equivalent approved by a State's Department of Education or a recognized accrediting organization and four years of satisfactory full-time experience in an industrial or governmental agency in the field of investigation, auditing, law enforcement, security, inspections, or in a major operational area of the agency in which the appointment is to be made
- A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university
- Education and/or experience equivalent to the above
Preferred Skills:
- Bachelor's degree including 24 credits in accounting
- Excellent organizational skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to conduct research utilizing various search engines
- Ability to balance multiple assignments simultaneously and function in a fast-paced environment
- Strong interpersonal, written, and analytical skills
- Willingness and ability to learn and use a variety of computer systems
