Position Overview: The Utilities Engineer at Monument Chemical is responsible for managing the efficiency and performance of the facility's utility systems. This role involves spearheading projects aimed at enhancing operations, prioritizing capital investments, and ensuring the highest standards of operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee Fresh Water Make-up and Treatment processes
  • Manage Cooling Water systems
  • Supervise Steam generation and Distribution
  • Coordinate Condensate collection and return
  • Administer Waste Water systems
  • Handle Nitrogen systems
  • Oversee Fuel Gas management
Essential Duties:
  • Identify and rectify inefficiencies within utility systems and propose expansion strategies as needed
  • Develop and sustain utility balance sheets
  • Contribute insights for Capital project planning
  • Provide troubleshooting guidance and pinpoint cost-saving opportunities
  • Recognize aging utility systems and equipment for necessary repairs, replacements, or upgrades
  • Ensure adherence to safety regulations and standards
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in utility engineering within a plant environment
  • Comprehensive understanding of utility design and construction principles
  • Proven ability to cultivate effective working relationships and communicate effectively
Certifications: PMP - Project Management Professional certification

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, and kneel
  • Capability to crouch, reach, push, pull, lift, and grasp
  • Willingness to work in various environmental conditions and hazards
  • Compliance with PPE requirements as necessary
