Job Summary

This position is primarily based in Charlottesville, VA, but may require travel to our site in Louisa, VA. Mileage reimbursement for travel to the Louisa site will be issued.


Schedules

For the Charlottesville location: 9a-5pm


For the Louisa location: 8am-4pm



Primary Duties

1. Administering medications to patients


2. Monitoring patients' health and well-being


3. Documenting medication administration and patient care


4. Preparing medications for administration


5. Ensuring compliance with regulations and protocols


6. Supporting and working with CNA staff when not performing Med Tech duties


7. Following infection control protocols to maintain a safe environment


Qualifications

• Current certifications in CPR and First Aid or completed within the first 6 months


• 40 hours of direct care training or willingness to complete within the first 90 days of employment


• Experience with and/or knowledge of older adults and their special needs, as well as individuals with a developmental/intellectual disability


• Ability to plan and implement programs, delegate tasks, and demonstrate sound judgment and flexibility


• Physical capacity necessary to assist and support clients, including the ability to lift 30#


• Computer skills required for record-keeping and communication


• Record of program accountability, reliability, and leadership, with strong written and oral communication skills


• Patience, tact, and persuasion when working with individuals with special needs


• Ability to work in a team environment and demonstrate appropriate skills in delegation, planning, and preparation


• Clear police background check per state regulation
