Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Veterinary Laboratory Manager to join our team at Eastern PA Veterinary Medical Center. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely diagnostic results for inpatient blood, urine, fecal, ear, and cell cytology samples.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and maintain all laboratory equipment, including in-house machines and instrumentation, to ensure optimal performance and accuracy.
  • Develop and implement quality control procedures to ensure the accuracy and reliability of diagnostic results.
  • Collaborate with veterinarians and other laboratory staff to ensure seamless communication and efficient workflow.
  • Develop and maintain a clean and organized working environment, adhering to strict safety protocols and regulations.
  • Manage laboratory inventory, including ordering supplies and maintaining accurate records.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on laboratory equipment, including scheduling maintenance and upgrades as needed.
  • Develop and implement procedures for the preparation and maintenance of laboratory samples, including blood smears, cytology, and urinalysis.
  • Develop and maintain accurate and detailed records of laboratory results, including documentation of quality control procedures and equipment maintenance.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a veterinary laboratory setting, with a focus on diagnostic testing and quality control.
  • Strong knowledge of laboratory equipment and instrumentation, including in-house machines and testing availability.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to maintain accurate and detailed records, with a focus on quality control and laboratory safety.
Work Schedule

This is a full-time position, with a shift schedule of Thursday, Friday, and Sunday (9a-9p). We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as paid time off and holidays.
