Job Description

Overview of the Position:

Compensation: $18.00-$23.00 Guaranteed and $21.00-$33.00 Flat Rate; Dependent on Experience

The Automotive Technician role is available in both full-time and part-time capacities, with an hourly wage reflective of the business's requirements. The primary duty of the Technician is to execute fundamental vehicle diagnostics and carry out standard vehicle repair and maintenance tasks in line with company protocols and manufacturer guidelines. This position is expected to provide outstanding service to our customers, effectively communicating vehicle concerns and proposed remedies, while consistently fulfilling customer expectations regarding timeliness and quality.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct basic vehicle diagnostics to accurately determine necessary repairs. Diligently complete the Courtesy Inspection process for every customer vehicle, identifying, documenting, and communicating additional required services and repairs; review courtesy inspections performed by General Service Technicians. Assist in managing inventory, including retrieving tires and parts, as well as unloading and stocking supplies. Support all general store operations, ensuring the facility is well-maintained and meets cleanliness standards. Consistently perform services in accordance with safety protocols, including but not limited to wheel torque and oil safety compliance procedures. Test drive vehicles following established policies, utilizing designated test routes while adhering to local traffic and safety regulations. Understand and comply with company policies and procedures, as well as governmental standards including environmental regulations and ANSI/OSHA guidelines. Maintain technical knowledge and skills by completing all required training courses and modules in a timely manner. Operate and maintain all equipment safely in accordance with company and manufacturer guidelines, including lifts, welders, and brake lathes. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent. Automotive training in basic maintenance and repair or a comparable combination of education and experience. ASE certification and State Inspection license (where applicable) preferred. Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report (MVR), with the ability to operate customer vehicles for test drives. Required to own a basic set of tools or participate in the company's tool purchase program.
