Job Overview

The Furniture Restoration Specialist is responsible for utilizing a stock picker to retrieve and store merchandise, as well as shrink wrapping and preparing repaired items for inventory. Additional responsibilities may be assigned by the management team. Comprehensive training for stock picker operation will be provided and compensated by American Furniture Warehouse.

Compensation: $19.50 per hour (based on experience)

Key Responsibilities:
  • Experience with warehouse machinery is preferred.
  • Understanding of proper lifting and team lifting techniques.
  • Capability to perform lifting and team lifting tasks safely.
  • Ability to work at heights ranging from 0 to 35 feet.
  • Willingness to undergo cross-training.
  • Ability to achieve certification for operating warehouse machinery.
  • Training on the appropriate use of personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided.
  • Dedication to adhering to safety policies and fostering a culture of safety awareness.
  • Prepare and secure merchandise using appropriate packaging materials.
  • Read, comprehend, and accurately follow both verbal and written instructions.
  • Utilize material handling equipment to transport products within the warehouse.
  • Proficient in operating a radio frequency (RF) scanner.
  • Skilled in using a hand truck safely.
  • Safely manage products at heights of up to 35 feet.
  • Conduct inspections of all power equipment and complete necessary Vehicle Inspection Reports prior to operation.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including holidays and weekends.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members through constructive communication.
  • All training will be provided by American Furniture Warehouse.
Physical Demands:
  • Ability to navigate confined and sometimes crowded spaces.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for extended periods, typically 8 hours or more daily.
  • Frequent use of arms, hands, fingers, eyes, legs, and back is required.
  • Ability to lift, lower, push, and pull merchandise weighing up to 100 lbs. regularly, and handle items weighing up to 250 lbs. frequently.
  • This role involves lifting, gripping, bending, kneeling, and moving merchandise for extended periods.
  • Work environment includes:
    • Fluorescent lighting
    • Concrete flooring
    • Conditions influenced by external weather
    • Significant ambient noise
    • Extreme temperature variations
  • A successful candidate must pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check.
