Job Summary:

This is a critical leadership role within the Arizona Department of Health Services, responsible for overseeing the Bureau of Medical Facilities Services. As Deputy Section Chief, you will serve as a key advisor to the Bureau Chief and provide strategic guidance on program development, budgeting, and policy implementation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide leadership and guidance to supervisory staff and direct reports, ensuring effective program implementation and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with budget planning, strategic planning, and performance improvement initiatives to drive program success.
  • Oversee the work of direct reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable statutes, laws, and rules.
  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and rules to ensure effective program management.
  • Represent the Bureau at local, regional, state, and national meetings, providing expert guidance on public health issues.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Public Health or Administration or a related field, with 2 years of progressive operational management experience in public health or system evaluation.
  • Master's degree may substitute for 1 year of work experience.
  • Valid level one fingerprint clearance card issued pursuant to A.R.S. §36-113.
