Join Our Team as a Physical Therapist I
UNC Health Care is seeking a highly skilled Physical Therapist I to join our team at the Meadowmont Wellness Center in Chapel Hill, NC. As a Physical Therapist I, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality physical therapy services to patients with a wide range of orthopedic and sports-related injuries, post-surgical care, and geriatrics.
About the Role
This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week, Tuesday-Saturday. The selected candidate will work closely with a team of 10+ physical therapists and other outpatient therapy providers, physicians, and advanced practice providers. You will have opportunities for clinical mentorship, teaching, precepting/mentoring students and residents, continuing education, community outreach, and program development.
Responsibilities
- Diagnostic Testing: Administer basic and complex diagnostic tests and evaluations in the area of Physical Therapy for the treatment of mobility disorders and related impairments.
- Education: Teach and supervise graduate Physical Therapy students and/or clinical fellows/residents. Develop innovative programs to enhance patient care and serve as a resource consultant to other clinicians in the specialty area.
- Evaluation of Care: Analyze results of diagnostic and therapeutic testing to establish patient goals and modify subsequent treatment programs. Identify expected patient outcomes and communicate relevant information to promote continuity of care.
- Implementation: Select and apply current and advanced techniques to provide quality and efficient rehabilitative services. Provide habilitation/rehabilitation and maintenance of persons with mobility-related impairments. Organize and prioritize care according to patient/family needs.
- Outreach/Community Involvement: Serve as a resource to North Carolina government departments and statewide health professionals in specialty areas. Present at local or state level, participate in community health screening and events, and participate in the development of new clinical programs to meet emerging needs.
- Participation: Contribute to quality of clinical services through attendance and participation in departmental meetings and in-services.
- Quality: Contribute to quality of clinical services through maintenance of valid and reliable records of patient procedures and progress. Participate in quality improvement initiatives with the clinical specialist and other healthcare professionals.
Requirements
- Education: Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapy program.
- Licensure/Certification: Licensed as a Physical Therapist in the state of North Carolina and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Professional Experience: No prior experience required.
What We Offer
UNC Health Care offers a competitive salary range of $46.33 per hour (hiring range) and a comprehensive benefits package. This is a State position employed by UNC Health Care System with UNC Health benefits. If you are presently an employee of another North Carolina agency and currently participate in TSERS or the ORP, you will be eligible to continue participating in those plans at UNC Health.
