Job Title: Physical Therapist I

UNC Health Care is seeking a highly skilled Physical Therapist I to join our team at UNC Therapy Services. As a Physical Therapist I, you will be responsible for providing evidence-based evaluations, ongoing assessments, planning, and treatment to patients in our outpatient orthopedic environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide comprehensive and evidence-based rehabilitative care to patients, encompassing patient assessment, evaluation, treatment, planning, and associated administrative tasks.
  • Conduct both basic and complex diagnostic tests and evaluations, focusing on the treatment of mobility disorders and related impairments.
  • Provide education and supervision to graduate Physical Therapy students and/or clinical fellows/residents.
  • Analyze results from diagnostic and therapeutic testing to establish and modify patient goals and treatment programs.
  • Employ current and advanced treatment techniques to offer high-quality, efficient rehabilitative services.
  • Serve as a resource to North Carolina government departments and statewide health professionals in specialty areas.
Requirements:
  • Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapy program.
  • Licensed as a Physical Therapist in the state of North Carolina.
  • BLS.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Orthopedics.
  • Sports Medicine.
  • Manual Therapy.
  • Application of therapeutic exercise and neuromuscular rehabilitation.
  • Ability to evaluate and treat a diverse orthopedic, geriatric, and sports-medicine patient population.
  • Advanced continuing education in the realm of orthopedics, sports medicine, geriatrics, and manual therapy.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent documentation skills and use of complex EMR.
  • Self-directed and independent learner.
  • Motivated to seek out learning and growth opportunities in the realm of outpatient orthopedics and sports medicine.
  • Ability to provide clinical instruction to physical therapy and medical students and residents.
Work Environment:

This position is located at the Ambulatory Care Center in Chapel Hill, NC, and offers a dynamic, multi-disciplinary environment with a collaborative team of six physical therapists and two orthopedic residents.
