Responsibilities

Job Summary / Purpose


The Physician Recruitment Consultant is primarily responsible for managing the recruitment process, ensuring that site visits, orientation, integration, and contract negotiations with new physicians are executed effectively.


Essential Key Job Responsibilities

  • Identifies and engages potential candidates for recruitment through various sourcing strategies. Maintains a comprehensive database of prospective physician candidates.

Sourcing methods may include, but are not limited to:

  • Identifying candidates with personal or educational connections to the region.
  • Collaborating with the Medical Staff to pinpoint potential candidates.
  • Engaging with sourcing agencies upon Supervisor's approval.
  • Partnering with search firms as authorized by the Supervisor.
  • Communicating with publications and media to discover potential candidates.
  • Exploring clinical rotation programs to familiarize physicians at recruitment events and residency programs.
  • Representing the organization at recruitment fairs and residency programs.
  • In collaboration with each physician practice, campus, clinic, and community, develops a detailed recruitment profile that outlines the specifics of each recruitment initiative, forming the foundation for the overall recruitment strategy.
  • Manages all logistics for reviewing and screening candidates to ensure they meet the qualifications for available positions, including providing necessary information about the practice opportunity and community, obtaining references, and completing employment verification.
  • Coordinates all arrangements for provider site visits, including travel itineraries, accommodations, and community tours, tailored to the unique interests and needs of each candidate and their family.
  • Collaborates with relevant departments for the onboarding, credentialing, orientation, and integration of successful candidates into the campus, clinic, and community, addressing housing, banking, and social needs.
  • Establishes a system to measure recruitment progress against overall plans, regularly reporting results to involved sites, physician practice groups, and local communities.
  • Works closely with the Physician Recruitment Sourcing Specialist to develop effective sourcing strategies and action plans for each search.
  • Implements ongoing communication with new physicians for at least the first six months to monitor satisfaction and ensure a smooth transition into the Medical Staff Office.
  • Reviews recruitment expense invoices for Supervisor approval and submits them promptly.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
Required Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in business or healthcare administration or extensive experience in physician recruitment.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Training
Requires exceptional interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse organizations and personalities. Must maintain positive relationships among all parties involved in the recruitment process. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential. A high level of organization is necessary, along with knowledge of medical group practices. Initiative and the ability to work independently are critical. Continuous verbal communication and frequent reading and writing skills are required.

Pay Range
$44.18 /hour
