Mohs Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Mohs Technician to join our team at US Derm Support Roles. As a Mohs Technician, you will play a critical role in supporting our dermatology lab by accessioning specimens, preparing slide trays, and maintaining lab organization and maintenance.

• Follow laboratory procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analyses, reporting, and maintaining records of patient test results.
• Maintain records that demonstrate proficiency testing samples are listed in the same manner as patient samples.
• Adhere to laboratory quality control policies, document all quality control activities, instrument and procedural calibrations, and maintenance performed.
• Follow established corrective action policies and procedures whenever test systems are not within the laboratory's acceptable levels of performance.
• Document all corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from the laboratory's lab director.
• Be capable of identifying problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results and either correct the problems or immediately notify the clinic supervisor.
• Adhere to compliance and complete compliance training.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

• An Associate's Degree in a science-related field is required; a Bachelor's Degree in a science-related field is preferred.
• Previous experience in a lab environment is preferred.

• Mohs Tech previous experience is highly preferred. We would consider MA, CNA with experience cutting Mohs.
• Must be flexible with hours to meet workflow demands.
• Knowledge of general medical terminology is preferred.
• Ability to type a minimum of 45 wpm with minimal errors is preferred.
• Must possess attention to detail.
• Must possess excellent customer service, communication, and organizational skills.
• Must display a friendly, cheerful, tactful, and polite demeanor and be compassionate and caring in dealing with others.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize appropriately, and work well both individually and as part of a team.
• Ability to use time productively and contribute to high levels of company operational efficiency and effectiveness.
• Ability to understand physician's instructions/handwriting and know when to seek additional information or clarification.
• Ability to respond positively to constructive criticism and direction from supervisors.
• Must demonstrate professional appearance and manner at all times.
• Must remain compliant with HIPAA, OSHA, and CLIA requirements.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of information.
