Job Summary:

The Mammography Technologist III performs routine screening and diagnostic mammography examinations to obtain high-quality radiographs. The technologist educates patients and families about the procedure and provides pre and post-procedure instructions. They take measures to provide and care for patients' safety and properly utilize procedure-related patient care/support devices appropriate for the age of the patient.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine screening and diagnostic mammography examinations to obtain high-quality radiographs.
  • Educate patients and families about the procedure and provide pre and post-procedure instructions.
  • Take measures to provide and care for patients' safety and properly utilize procedure-related patient care/support devices.
  • Alert supervisors and/or appropriate staff of potential problems or equipment malfunctions.
  • Maintain a relaxed environment to calm anxious patients.
  • Perform special procedures, assist with quality control testing, and order supplies.
  • Offer guidance to less experienced staff.

Requirements:

  • Associate degree or higher.
  • Graduate of an ARRT-approved Radiologic Technology program.
  • A minimum of 2 years of mammography experience.

Licenses and Certifications:

  • California Radiologic Technologist Diagnostic Radiologic Technology - CRTXR.
  • California Radiologic Technologist Mammographic Radiologic Technology - CRTMA.
  • ARRT Radiography - RTR.
  • AHA BLS certification.
  • ARRT Mammography - RTM.
