Job Title: Advanced Practice Provider - Inpatient Hematology/Oncology Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Provider to join our team at Seidman Cancer Center in Cleveland. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Hematology/Oncology and Sickle Cell Disease.

Job Summary:

The Advanced Practice Provider will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in the inpatient setting. This includes performing patient assessments, assigning diagnoses, and implementing treatment plans in accordance with current scientific and research-based standards of care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform patient assessments and assign diagnoses based on recorded assessment data and current scientific and research-based standards of care.
  • Establish and implement treatment plans in accordance with care paths, protocols, and standards of care.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare providers in an interdisciplinary approach to provide care to patients and families.
  • Order and perform routine diagnostic procedures.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of therapeutic interventions.
  • Contribute to the educational development of staff, patients, family, and self.
  • Demonstrate progressive leadership and effective management.
  • Provide education through role modeling and in-services to meet identified learning needs and promote professionalism.
  • Advance own professional development through self-directed learning, continuing education, and participation in peer review.
  • Initiate and maintain positive relationships with patients/customers and co-workers.
  • Take responsibility for self-development and support a learning environment.
  • Display commitment to the mission of the hospital and its values.
Requirements:
  • Demonstrated competence as a practitioner.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • A variety of technical patient care devices specific to the clinical area.
  • Computers and selected office equipment.
Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated skills in interpersonal relationships.
Education/Expertise:
  • Nurse Practitioner:
    • Nursing Doctorate or Master of Science in Nursing with emphasis on clinical practice.
  • Physician Assistant:
    • Completion of a formal Physician Assistant training from an accredited program with NCCPA certification.
Required Credentials, Licensure or Certification:
  • Nurse Practitioner:
    • BLS required; ACLS preferred.
    • Current Registered Nurse license to practice in Ohio.
    • Current APRN license to practice in Ohio.
  • Physician Assistant:
    • BLS required; ACLS preferred.
    • NCCPA-Certified.
    • DEA license.
