Job SummaryNationally certified Advanced Practice Providers provide primary and/or specialty care in a variety of healthcare settings. This role emphasizes health promotion, disease prevention, and the diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic health problems. Responsibilities include conducting thorough medical histories, performing physical examinations, initiating lab and radiology tests, and developing treatment plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
Responsibilities- Conduct medical histories and physical examinations to establish patient health status and develop treatment plans
- Initiate lab and radiology tests to support diagnosis and treatment
- Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with the healthcare team
- Educate patients on disease, treatments, and related side effects
- Participate in medical team rounds and collaborate with nursing and other healthcare team members
- Refer patients to specialists as needed for consultation or specialized care
- Support professional development of the healthcare team and promote evidence-based practices
- MSN required upon hire or within 3 years of hire
- Graduate of an accredited APRN program
- Currently licensed as a Nurse Practitioner in applicable state(s)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA) required
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) through the American Heart Association (AHA); or Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) through the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) may be required based upon work setting
