Your Role:
As an Accountant in our Minneapolis office, you will play a vital role in our team by:
- Executing general accounting and administrative tasks to fulfill contractual obligations.
- Ensuring all financial transactions are completed accurately and promptly.
- Participating in monthly forecasting review sessions.
- Providing project teams with necessary ad hoc reports and analyses.
- Assisting in the compilation of information for both internal and external financial reporting.
- Preparing client billing packages in accordance with contract stipulations to guarantee timely payments.
- Handling bank deposits, monthly reconciliations, and cash receipt entries.
- Identifying irregularities or potential risks and aiding in the formulation of strategies to mitigate them.
- Ensuring all essential documentation, including insurance and bonding, is in place.
- Interpreting trade partner documentation concerning accounting matters and adhering to established accounting protocols.
To be successful in this role, you should possess:
- A postsecondary degree or diploma in a relevant field.
- Active pursuit of an accounting designation is considered advantageous.
- A minimum of 2 years of accounting experience in the construction sector or a related field is preferred.
- A solid understanding of full-cycle accounting, project forecasting, and budgeting.
- Knowledge of government regulations and generally accepted accounting principles.
- Intermediate knowledge of lien rights and basic exposure to bid and contract securities.
- An understanding of subcontract purchase order terms, including insurance and bonding requirements.
- The ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with accounting software.
