Role Summary

The Respiratory Therapist plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality respiratory care to patients. This position involves executing both fundamental and advanced therapeutic interventions as mandated by health regulations and within the framework of respiratory care services. The therapist is responsible for accurately interpreting and executing physician directives in a timely manner while utilizing advanced assessment skills to monitor and address patient care requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Essential Duties Include:

  • Administering advanced life support techniques, including tracheal intubation, while independently assessing and coordinating patient care strategies with medical staff.
  • Collaborating with physicians to develop and adjust treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs.
  • Initiating ventilator weaning protocols under physician supervision.
  • Conducting routine tracheostomy care, including scheduled and emergency tube replacements.
  • Monitoring and evaluating patients' respiratory conditions through proficient bedside assessments, ensuring awareness of vital parameters such as pH levels, electrolyte balance, ABG results, and other relevant health functions.
Qualifications

Required Credentials:

  • Active certification from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) or an equivalent state credential.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory.
  • Current state licensure is required.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification must be obtained upon hiring.

Preferred Experience:

  • A minimum of one year of relevant experience is preferred.
